My First Group Ride

I'm sure I've told you how much I love riding my bike, right?  Well, incase I haven't told you,

I LOVE IT!

But there has been something I've been wanting to do on it, yet totally terrified of doing all at once...

The Group Ride!

Yes, I was terrified of the group ride.  I know, I know, maybe you think that's a silly thing to be terrified of, but I was petrified!

I had all these nervous thoughts.  For instance "what if I suck at riding and am in the back the whole entire way?" "What if I get on a longer ride that I completely bonk on?"  "what if I get dropped?" "what if I get there and I don't make any friends?"  "what if I crash"  The "what if's" well, they were endless, but deep down I wanted to go on a group so badly I couldn't stand it!

Luckily for me my lovely and good friends Genisis and Jonathan invited me with them on the 4th of July Cycles De Oro ride.

And Guess what?  None of my "what if's" happended.  The Group ride was great! It was a perfect start to hopefully many many more.

It turns out I don't suck at riding or the group ride, the milliage was great, I even felt like I could have done a whole lot more, I felt good about our pace which was around 15.3 miles per hour and I even made a lot of new friends.

I'd been sad because I didn't think that the female biking community here in GSO was all that big, and it turns out I couldn't have been more wrong, clearly I've just not been hanging out with the right people.

The group ride was fun and I'm looking forward to many many more.
