Wise Women Wednesday: Angela Marie Patnode

Angela Marie Patnode

It's Wise Women Wednesday, each week I interview a woman that I believe is inspiring, living abundantly and following her passions.  These are all women who live a life of abundance and bring creativity into the world.

Q. Who are you? What is your background?
A. I’m a seeker of an authentic and vibrant Life in alignment with Spirit. I didn’t know that though for the first part of my life. It wasn’t until I had extreme anxiety and a panic attack that woke me up from a closed heart and the “shoulds” in 2002. Leaving a relationship that wasn’t right for me, the anxiety disappeared within 3 days and the seeking began. I went to a 10 day meditation retreat (never having meditated before!), and found my first taste of true peace. How liberating! I wondered off and on the path for many years after that until I met a Buddhist teacher in 2008, signed up for his 2 year program and really began my transformation into my true self. We had three week long silent retreats the second year, and on the last one, I had what I can only call a Divine download – a voice describing in great detail the work that I do today as a Transformational Coach and Spiritual Teacher – I took notes and knew it was my calling, giving my first workshop on authentic living 3 weeks later, while offering personal coaching on dissolving anxiety and getting unstuck.

Q. What is your work?
A. With the above experience, combined with a more recent healing from chronic pain and technology sensitivity using the power of my mind, I guide people to activate the power of their mind (neuroplasticity) with a connection to Spirit for healing the body and being their most vibrant Self.

Q. What is one project you are excited to be working on right now?
A. Two things: I’m focusing each day on being in alignment with Spirit. To continuously open my heart, be of service and get myself out of the way! I’m also working on creating a group program that incorporates the power of the mind with Spirit in a group format (I’ve been teaching it through private coaching only so far). I have the calling to reach thousands of people with this work. It’s incredibly impactful!

Q. What is one thing you've done recently that's scared you and took courage, but you're glad you did?
A. Honestly, it has to do with my family. My intention for the last six months is to completely surrender to God’s will. Serendipitously, my mom decided it was time to move after 51 years in the same house and asked me if I would help. This was no small project. A collector of everything, there was so much stuff to go through! I knew it would take months and I was resistant at first, but once I got clear with my soul and listened to intuition, it felt totally right.

Q. What is the work you most want to be doing and are you doing it?  If not why not what's stopping you?
A. What I am doing is my souls calling and I can’t imagine doing anything else. When I get off the call with a client I feel overjoyed in connecting with them and being witness to their transformation.

Q. What would you tell your high school or college self?
A. Listen to and trust your intuition. There is nothing more important in your life to do.

Q. What's one piece of advice or motto you love and use in your daily life that you would like to share with my sweet readers?
A. Meditate. Meditate daily, even for 5 minutes. Also, your thoughts create your reality. What you think you become. Focus your mind on a mantra or way of being when your mind goes into mindless chatter. “I am vibrant, healthy, and energetic everyday” is an example. Choose the words that resonate most for you and say it at least 100 times a day. This will raise your vibrational frequency (we’re made up of over 99% energy, less than 1% matter) which creates healing in the cells and clarity and energy in the mind.

Q. What keeps you creating when you don't feel like it?
A. Meditation. And a break! I create best when I’m taking time for myself out in nature. I love to run, hike, bike, paddleboard, listen to the birds, all of it. Nature always helps calm my mind and be more present.

Q. Anything else you'd like to share?
A. Your body is a miracle. Everything about it. You are a miracle. Everything about you. Your body is meant to be vibrant and energetic and can be created, no matter your age!

Q. What's your favorite yoga pose?
A. Upward dog

Q. How do you live a life of abundance?
A. Gratitude for all the little things in life. Giving thanks for a meal, the sun rising, the hello of a friend, the health of my body… there is abundance everywhere!
