Creativity Tool Tuesday: Trip to the Beach

Let's say it together "self care is not selfish".  That was really more for me than you, but I bet you needed it hear it too am I right?  Maybe you're like me and have the tendency to over do it sometimes?  In this new life of mine I'm learning a new rhythm.  Turns out most things take twice the amount of time I expected them to take and even though I'm doing work I love it's still work and can be exhausting even when I get to do it while traveling and having fun.  I'm so lucky and I'm learning valuable lessons such as the need to protect my inner introvert and my need to spend copious amounts of time near water.

So after a wonderful Launch Party getting to connect with amazing, wonderful people in my community my aunt helped me with a little last minute work Saturday morning getting "The Letters From the Year of the Travel" out on time and then we high tailed it out to Carolina beach.  The beach is a place I like to go to recharge my batteries.  There is nothing like salt air, sand on my toes, sun on my skin, and salt water to fill me up and help me let go and relax.  When I go to the beach I make sure I get to see the sun rise.  It doesn't matter if it's January or if it's August sun rise on the beach is a must.

My creativity tip to you is to get near water, the ocean if you can but even if you can't find a river, lake or stream to sit by even if it's for 15 minutes.  Water has the ability to wash away worries and fill up the soul.
