Ideas to Pass the Time While You Weather the Storm

Happy Friday,

Those of us in the Piedmont Triad woke up to wind gusts and clouds and a bit of rain. I'm thinking about our NC and SC coasts today and hoping that everyone is safe and ok.  If you're in the path of this east coast Hurricane I hope you're safe.  Maybe today's five things will be a pleasant distraction?

Here are this week's five things in no particular order...

1st)  When I woke up at 3 am hearing the wind and worried about every in hurricane's path I couldn't fall back to sleep so I started knitting.   Yes, you read that right, it's calming and there is a dishcloth pattern I love that's easy.  A dishcloth knitting project is fast and easy and very satisfying.  You might enjoy making these with leftover cotton yarn you have laying around while you're hunkered down weathering the storm.

2nd) This TEDx video about "How Boredom helps you Do Your Best Thinking".  A tiny reminder we need to let go of our phones and technology sometimes and most importantly stop multi-tasking.

3rd) Do you love the Animal Spirit Cards that I use with all my clients in sessions and with guests on the podcast?  If so, just for this Hurricane Weekend I'm sharing a Personalized Virtual Year Ahead spread reading at a deeply discounted rate.

4th)  I was inspired by the story and work of Jonna Jinton.  This Video "The Story of my Life, from a dream to reality" was especially moving.

5th) Quote I'm pondering right now "A disciple asks the rebbe: “Why does Torah tell us to ‘place these words upon your hearts’? Why does it not tell us to place these holy words in our hearts?” The rebbe answers: “It is because as we are, our hearts are closed, and we cannot place the holy words in our hearts. So we place them on top of our hearts. And there they stay until, one day, the heart breaks and the words fall in.”

Happy Friday, please stay safe!
